About this event

In the 2020 Budget, the government announced a £200 million fund to test and demonstrate a range of innovative projects to help communities become more resilient to flooding and coastal change. The fund will provide a fantastic opportunity to develop and test new and emerging approaches and ambitions set out in the new Government Policy Statement and the National Flood & Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategy.

Applications for this new Innovative Flood and Coastal Resilience Programme will open in autumn 2020, with successful projects starting in spring 2021 and completing before spring 2027. Selected partnerships will receive on average around £6 million over the six years.

Projects must be led by a single Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) or Coastal Protection Authority (CPA), but successful projects will represent a consortium of local partners. Please decide as a project consortium who should join this introductory webinar to find out how to make the most of this unique opportunity!

This webinar aims to support applicants by:

  1. Explaining how you can get ready to apply
  2. Inspiring you to creatively consider how your project will show innovation, and
  3. Giving you the opportunity join a conversation about the programme and ask questions.

For part of the webinar we will break into three groups to explore the type of resilience building actions the programme is looking to support. When you book your place we've asked you to select which of these groups you'd like to join, please select the group most relevant to your project area:

  1. Coastal flooding and/or coastal erosion
  2. Fluvial flooding
  3. Surface and/or groundwater flooding

We have limited spaces on these webinars so please prioritise who should attend from your project consortium and sign up asap.
